MAAS project wins Innovation Awards
Congratulations to the HSS Medical Accounts Assessment System (MAAS) project team who have been announced as a joint winner in an international industry award for innovation.
The team, in partnership with the software solution provider won the OutSystems Global Innovation Award for the MAAS application which is now used by 5 metropolitan hospitals and more than 60 regional sites to manage invoices and payments of medical services provided by contracted medical practitioners (CMP).
The Award recognised the use of a low-code platform to successfully develop and deliver a customised MAAS solution in just five months.
HSS Chief Information Officer Holger Kaufmann said winning the award showcases the innovation of the MAAS project on a global level.
“The low-code solution automated many aspects throughout the application’s development to significantly reduce the volume of hand-coding required,” Holger said.
“This meant we were able to provide a replacement MAAS with enterprise-grade architecture, performance and security within a short amount of time.
“Our new solution puts HSS at the forefront of application innovation and in a position to continue improving and building on the services we offer to the WA health system.”
The new MAAS, which was launched on 1 July 2019, streamlines the processing of up to $100 million worth of CMP invoices each year under one managed system - making it easier and more efficient for our customers.
