Promoting Aboriginal culture at HSS
Aboriginal culture is one of the oldest cultures in the world and sharing seasonal knowledge is vital to ensuring the preservation of more than 60,000 years of wisdom.
Sharing this knowledge is also an important step in building Aboriginal cultural awareness across HSS to help create a culturally safe environment that attracts Aboriginal people to our workforce. It also aligns with our Aboriginal Workforce Action Plan which aims to create a workplace where Aboriginal people are seen, valued, included and respected.
The Aboriginal Seasonal Calendar highlights the natural elements that guide the transition between seasons. These elements are all around us in the plants, animals, water and weather changes.
